At certain times in my life, I wanted to be someone else.
It is easy to get caught up in the lives of people we may consider to be role models. But, I have come to the realization that I am the combination of several people.
The mother willing to sacrifice anything for her child’s happiness
The father willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to protect his family
The sibling willing to be unconditionally supportive
The child willing to make the parents proud
The student willing to learn
The teacher willing to share wisdom
The follower willing to be resilient
The leader willing to lead
The preacher willing to share the gospel
The friend turned family
The lover willing to wear my heart upon a sleeve
The fighter willing to be tenacious
I am… all these and so much more.
Conclusively, I am fragments of every and anyone I have considered as a “role model” and there’s nothing else I would rather be.
